Why Automate a Mess?
Process Improvement is the foundation of Get Efficient's success.
Our clients usually come to us to solve a problem, like slow registration processing or unbalanced books, but when we dig into the problem, it is quickly noted that POINT IMPROVEMENTS do not work. Our signature program, GetSTARTED helps associations of all sizes reach their full potential but reducing cost, increasing member benefits and securing profits.
“GetSTARTED™”:
Strategic Targeting and Removal of Total Efficiency Drags
Lean efficiency tools were developed to streamline manufacturing, but why should manufacturers have all the fun? Our signature program, “GetSTARTED™” is designed to provide an organization-wide assessment of operational efficiency and to establish objectives and priorities for application of the Lean efficiency tools integrated into your operations, -- we call it Office Lean.
The program starts with an overall assessment at the organizational level that senior management selects and sets priorities for efficiency producing projects. In priority order, the program to apply Lean to office processes is launched.
“GetSTARTED™” was developed to provide a structured framework in which an organization can quickly prioritize and deploy these cost-saving techniques to achieve immediate results. The program was designed specifically for the non-profit industry and focuses on back-office processes specific to the needs of the industry’s unique business model. So “GetSTARTED” identifies and prioritizes the projects that Office Lean will address.
Office Lean sequentially launches the projects according to priority and eliminates waste and saves time and money. With a few simple techniques you can turn your back-office into a “lean, mean, management machine.”
Get Efficient, Inc. has been working with associations using Lean concepts and methodology to ease workload in the back office and provide better customer service to their members for more than 6 years.
Consider that 60 to 80 percent of all costs related to meeting association member needs are administrative or are incurred for non-production-related functions. Therefore, to be Lean, the concepts must be understood, implemented and sustained throughout the entire company.
Office Lean can impact administrative processes at all levels of an organization:
-
Enterprise Level: Streamlines and accelerates those processes that touch members and vendors, such as order entry, membership service, accounts payable/receivable processing, marketing/sales, data management, event and education delivery and product distribution.
-
Organizational Level: Streamlines key support processes (e.g. Information Technology, Human Resources, Legislative Affairs, and Purchasing), identifies internal customer requirements and value, improves communication and cross-functional cooperation.
-
Departmental Level: Focuses on objectives, reduces activities that add time but little value, measures progress to Takt Time, creates Flow to reduce hand-off breakdowns, implements Pull and Kanban systems and uses Visual Management to identify issues.
-
Individual Level: Reduces paperwork, manual entries and errors using Standard Work Procedures, improves organization using 5S, (Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) and clarifies individual roles, responsibilities and objectives.
